Sr. Margaret Walsh I.J.S., teaching ESOL (English to speakers of other languages)
Brushstrokes Volunteers
The work of Brushstrokes has always involved input from committed volunteers. In particular, Brushstrokes’ ESOL/IT
teaching and home visiting services benefit tremendously from volunteers, who freely share their time and talents. Other main
areas are hospitality, office administration and general maintenance of the centre and its grounds.
A notable achievement is the fact that a number of people who, in the past, have received assistance from Brushstrokes,
now contribute to the office through volunteering. Brushstrokes always welcomes any offer of voluntary help and, in return,
pays travel costs as well as provides opportunities for training and skills development.
Brushstrokes Crèche Services
Crèche facilities are organized and run by staff
from Barnado’s and Sure Start. The crèche is large, bright, safe and conducive to stimulating play and learning activities.
Friendly
and professional crèche workers ensure that each child is happy, confident and encouraged to interact with others, in preparation
for mainstream nurseries and schools.
Brushstrokes’
Crèche currently operates on:
-
Tuesday 13.00 — 14.30
-
Wednesday 10.00 — 11.30
-
Thursday 13.00 — 14.30
